September is an exciting time for both parents and students. The children are ecstatic to see their school friends again and parents are overjoyed to see how much their kids have grown.
To kick off the new school year on the right foot, here are some local resources to support and supplement your child’s learning journey.
School’s Resources
It might be worth checking out the online resources available through the school’s website since it is free in most cases. Some of the programs like Homework Help for Math, English, or French have free live tutoring sessions. Other materials available online, like the Library Learning Commons, can help aid your child in researching information or introduce them to topics of interest.
Library Resources
The London Public Library often has fun and interactive educational workshops. Most of these programs are free too! From history, to science, to art, these are just some of the topics you can find in activities in the library. The closest library branch is Jalna. You can stay up to date with their programs at www.lpl.ca/whats-on.
Additionally, the library also has online catalogues for any research your child or teen may need to conduct. Visit www.lpl.ca/books-digital/digital-library.
Paid Tutoring Services
If you are considering one-on-one, in-person, homework help for your child, first ask your school if there are any tutors they recommend. They may have a list of alumni looking for clients. Alternatively, you can visit tutoring service centres, the closest ones are Kumon Math and Reading Centre, 1112 Dearness Dr. Unit 15, Mathnasium at 379 Southdale Rd W #101, and Oxford Learning at 1021 Wonderland Rd S.
We wish you a fun and educational school year!
