As you can imagine, the longer I am on Ideal Protein, the easier it gets.  Therefore, you may think, “what more can she write about?!” Well, let me tell you, there is plenty! I have a hard time keeping these stories to the length of a blog post, not a novel…

Week three was challenging in different ways. Cody’s brother had his birthday and as usual we went out to a restaurant to celebrate. This was the first time eating out since we started Ideal Protein. Luckily, we were able to view the menu online beforehand and honestly, that didn’t really help when it came time to choose the best meal. We spent just as long in the restaurant debating if what we were ordering was okay. There was only one sure fire thing on the menu that both Cody and I liked, and I let Cody order it (I’m sure he will tell you all about it in his blog). I took a chance and ordered the chicken wings with hot sauce. Now, before you get all huffy and think that I cheated, let me explain!

I made sure that a) the wings weren’t breaded b) they were baked c) I picked off all the skin (because you can only have skinless chicken on the program). I felt like quite the barbarian picking off the skin and then the meat with my fingers instead of eating like a civilized person. However, when I weighed myself the following days, the number kept going down! Therefore, I think the first night eating out was a success.

Now that we are in the third week, our weight loss is slowing down (completely normal). The first two weeks, I lost around 5 lbs per week and now that it’s slowing down, I am trying to cope with the number on the scale when it’s only gone down 0.3 lbs in 24 hours. I know this might sound silly, but I’ve never been very patient, so when I go from losing 1 lb per day to losing only a third of a pound, it’s tough. I just keep repeating, “Any number that was lower than yesterday is good.” Easier said than believed though!

Enough complaining! I’m actually starting to see some differences in my body. Although it is tough to see weight change in yourself, I have noticed my clothes are starting to get baggier. Even my style/mindset is changing. I would always look for loose fitting clothing, but my most recent search at my online clothing store has changed! I no longer want something that is loose. I’m not quite at the “tight-fit” clothing stage yet, but I feel myself working/gaining confidence towards it!

Not only my clothing is feeling looser, my rings are too! I’m the type of person who never takes off her rings. They even stayed on when I got my appendix surgically removed last November (because I couldn’t take them off). One of the positives of losing weight will changing up my rings when I want to. It might sound trivial to some, but to me it’s a big deal.

Now that week three is over, I’ve lost 14 lbs. People (including me) are starting to notice, and I can’t wait to see how many more will notice next week when we have yet another wedding to attend!
