Wow! My last week on Ideal Protein! To be honest with you, this last week was very challenging. Being so close and yet so far from being able to eat whatever I wanted (within reason) was something I struggled with all week. Grocery shopping was particularly hard. I stopped at the Italian Sausages every time and said, “that wouldn’t be too bad” and Cody would have to steer me away saying, “Only one more week.”
It was even harder because I gained weight again…and I know this isn’t fat and just my glycogen storages refilling but STILL! Working so hard and having the scale go up is NOT FUN! But let me tell you this…I went jeans shopping! I picked out two sizes of jeans in both straight normal cut and straight curvy cut. I was 100% sure I’d only fit in the larger size of those jeans and the curvy cut would fit me best. I was wrong on both accounts! Not only did the smaller size fit, but the curvy cut didn’t look as good on me as I thought it would. Translation: I’m no longer curvy! Ok I still have curves in some places, but my butt is definitely a lot flatter than it has ever been. I made a joke to Cody saying I’m going to be one of those people who go to the gym only to get a bubble butt!
Humour aside, I really feel a lot better! I mean I’m itching to go for a run with my dog! I’d never want to go for a run with my dog when I was fifty pounds heavier. Running hurt. My knees would hurt, my back would hurt, my neck would hurt and somehow my arms would hurt! But now, I feel so much younger and spry enough to take my Border Collie out for a run in the nice spring air!
Seeing as this is my last blog post, I just wanted to thank some people. Yes, I’m going to do an award speech but luckily, I don’t have to wear five-inch heels and a rhinestone dress to do it (although I’d look fabulous). First off, I have my coach to thank. No email or question was left unanswered and that definitely helped me understand the program better. Secondly, I’d like to thank Cody. Without him, I don’t think I would have been able to do this. Not only did he join me in this journey, he helped by hiding the scale when I was getting too obsessive and stayed strong when I wanted to cheat on the program. Lastly, I’d like to thank all of you who read my posts. Writing these posts have been very cathartic for me and helped me work out a lot of what I was going through. Without all of these things, I would not have been able to lose 50 lbs and 21.5 inches (that’s almost two feet of fat!). Thanks to Ideal Protein, I am looking forward to many different things, like cooking new healthy recipes, shopping for new clothes, running, and so much more!
