50 Years of Yurek

"When my father Edward first unlocked the doors of what was then the Main Street Pharmacy back in 1963, I'm not sure anyone would have expected us to grow and evolve to the point where we are today -- as Southwestern Ontario's leading pharmaceutical and healthcare provider, with two retail outlets, a processing facility, and a warehouse under the Yurek banner.

"But what he did see when he looked out that window was a strong and vibrant community that would be the focus of everything we do.

"50 years later, my father's enjoying his retirement and my brother and I proudly continue on the tradition of quality healthcare upon which he insisted from Day One. And we're thrilled to be able to serve an even larger community with even more options: pharmacy, home healthcare, mobility products, and our latest addition of infusion equipment and related medical supplies.

"In 2013, we celebrated 50 years of business. But what we actually celebrated is 50 years of community support. We wouldn't be where we are without you and that's why we're committed to bringing you the best in healthcare each and every day.

"On behalf of my brother Jeff, my father Edward, and the entire staff at Yurek Pharmacy Ltd. we want to thank you for an amazing FIRST 50 years. We look forward to being a part of this community for at least another 50 years.

"Thank you for your incredible support."

There has been a great deal of publicity lately around methadone and methadone clinics.  When you are at your local pharmacy, you may see a client drinking a cup of orange juice; they politely say “thank you” and leave.  Not unlike a scene outside Port Stanley’s landmark, Mackie’s, in the summer.
