IT Support Technician

We are currently looking for a skilled and service-focused full-time IT Support Technician to join our Yurek Pharmacy team in St. Thomas, Ontario.

Job Summary

The IT Support Technician provides both onsite and remote support for our multi-site organization. In collaboration with the IT Programmer, they will provide solid technical solutions backed by their ability to clearly communicate in a user- friendly and professional manner.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Answer phone calls and respond to all other types of requests (emails, etc.) for technical support in a multi-site environment

  • Provide assistance, support and advice to internal customers regarding system operation, problems with their systems and possible solutions

  • Create service tickets containing all relevant information based on troubleshooting and investigative efforts

  • Configure and install server and desktop pc hardware and software

  • Implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices

  • Computer systems building.

  • Technical systems maintenance, expansion and administration

  • Supporting networks, hardware, and software.

  • Supervise copiers, fax machines, printers and other office automation equipment, including preventative

    maintenance and servicing

Recommend hardware and software improvements

  • Maintain software library and keep all software licenses up to date and documented;

  • Document and update IT process guides

  • Work closely with the Programmer to design, develop and implement new solutions as required

Utilize information from reports to proactively solve potential problems

Other duties as assigned.

Education, Skills and Job Requirements:

High School Diploma, Completion of post-secondary education in a related field preferred

Previous experience in IT, customer service, or other related fields.

  • Must have a healthy aptitude, be a quick learner and thrive on exceeding expectations.

  • Highly organized, results-driven, and ability to prioritize work effectively

  • Strong and friendly customer service skills with a focus on timely follow-up, every time.

  • Exceptionally strong listening and communication skills, including a good telephone manner.

  • Ability to work effectively with creation and following procedures and completion of task lists on time.

  • Strong technical troubleshooting and critical thinking skills, including an in-depth knowledge of Microsoft

Windows based client operating systems, networking, and internet browsers.

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access

  • Knowledge and experience in Network Security, expert level preferred

  • Knowledge of using diagnostic tools, service aids, and product schematics, to assess and resolve equipment and

    system failures

  • Printer/copier and laptop/desktop experience, technical training, or equivalent combination of education and

    technical experience.

  • Experience with audio/video equipment is an preferred
